AiA signs publication and distribution contract with Playbac
Paris, France: Aug. 7th 2009 - Art in All of Us is proud to announce that after 4 years hard work:
- Having achieved the world art tour of schools for tolerance and multicultural exchanges
- Having collected children's expressions and opinion through drawings and poems of their national identity in every 192 UN-country
- Having selected the best drawing, poem, and photograph from each country
- Having worked with the graphic and editing team of their partner Fundacion America in Chile
THE WORLD ART BOOK IS NOW COMPLETE, and AiA Belgium has signed an editing contract with French editor Play Bac Editions, to print 10.000 issues of its French language version. The launch in France and other French speaking countries has been set for November, to coincide, mark and celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Children's Rights Convention. The French title is "Si tous les enfants du monde" - Let's open and read this beautiful book imagining what would happen if all the children of the world... held each other's hand... had the opportunity to talk to each other... played together... could see and understand each other...
Ann Veneman, Executive Director of the Unicef gave us the honor to write the foreword of the book. She adds "This extraordinary book is an amazing adventure into the creative minds of children. It is the brainchild of two talented photographers, Anthony Asael and Stéphanie Rabemiafara, who presented the idea of offering children around the world the chance to express themselves through art.
UNICEF is a proud supporter of the project, called Art in All of Us, which also got the global backing of hundreds of volunteers, organizations and corporations.
The result has been a colorful ensemble of creative pieces spanning the world - from Belgium to Benin - that reflect the uniqueness of each background yet also the similarities that run through childhood.
The release of the book comes at a time where the world marks the 20th Anniversary on 20 November 2009 of the Convention of the Rights of the Child. Art in All of Us has provided a vehicle for thousands of children to exercise their right to express themselves - using the universal language of art. This book helps showcase that photography and art can help promote respect, tolerance and peace and build a better world for children and their families.
To further promote artistic education in schools, the proceeds from the sales of this book will contribute to the initiatives of Art in All of Us.
Over 400 people have volunteered to support the work of AiA. Volunteers have generously devoted their time to build and expand AiA. All donations are gladly accepted. For more information, click here. Pre-ordering the book can be done here
