School Participation
Art in All of Us - Pen Pal Program for school art exchange
The objective of the AiA Art Pen Pal Program is to promote artistic and creative communication among children from all parts of the globe. We have set up a network of schools and facilitate their exchange of works of art to share their local culture with others around the world.
Through these exchanges, we hope to make the children aware of the world in which they live in and provide them the opportunity and the tools required to communicate directly and creatively with children across borders.
Participating schools are matched according to age range or similar criteria and facilitated to develop artwork based on a mutually agreed subject, often suggested by AiA. Once the pieces are ready, both schools send them to one another by post.
AiA also sends a list of evaluation questions to each school, where each teacher is asked to answer them with their students and then send them back to AiA. The aim of the questions is to evaluate the impact the exchanges had on the students; as well as to encourage them to think about the artwork they have received, and what they learned about another culture through the artwork they received from their Pen Pal school.
Participation in the AiA Pen Pal Program can be complementary to the official curriculum in many subjects: Art Education, Cultural and Community Service, Geography, and Foreign Language in some cases (where the paired schools communicate in a language different from their primary educational language).
If you have a slow internet connection or have difficulties to participate online, please write us at school@artinallofus.org and we will be happy to send you a participation form in Word format (available in Spanish, French, Portuguese).

By sending your school's participation form you implicitly agree to respect the school's commitments. By accepting registration of a school to its ART PPP and by pairing schools together, AiA implicitly agrees to respect the organization's commitment.
Commitments from AiA:Within AiA, we commit ourselves to finding each registered school a paired school, provided that we receive positive answers from the schools contacted. Within AiA, we commit ourselves to suggesting themes that will stimulate the students to learn from each other. If not satisfied with the suggested theme, teachers can suggest another one, provided that it contributes to the knowledge of each other's culture and country. Within AiA, we commit ourselves to publishing the students' artworks on our website, making the creation and thoughts from kids available to all the visitors of our website. Within AiA, we commit ourselves to answering any questions that the teachers and their students may have on other countries. Ultimately, we commit ourselves to building bridges through this exchange program. |
Commitments from participating schools:The school commits itself to maintaining regular communication with its paired school, in order to organize the exchange. The school commits itself to answering the questions asked by the students of the paired school and communicated to him by the paired school; sending their students' questions on to the paired school; and monitoring the students in the preparation of the artworks, following the theme suggested by AiA. The school commits itself to keeping AiA updated on the progress of the exchanges and to giving AiA feedback on the general organization of the exchanges, as well as feedback from the students. The school commits itself to sending AiA digital copies (scans or photographs) of the artworks prepared by their students before sending them to the paired school. |
DischargeBy participating to the AiA Art Pen Pal Program, I authorize the publication and reproduction of the poetry and the drawings (or any other form of art) elaborated by the children of my school (classroom), for the project Art in All of Us, including for future exhibitions and the website and all other means that will help promote AiA’s and children work. I understand that the ownership of the artwork is transferred along with the artwork I will send to the schools with which we are paired. All the above mentioned material could be used for fundraising purposes for the programs of the not-for-profit organization Art in All of Us. Therefore, I agree to sending AiA high quality digital copies of the children artworks before sending them out to the Pal school. Ownership of the original artworks will be transferred to the recipient Pal school. If you prefer your school’s works not to be published please contact your AiA Pen Pal Program Manager before dispatching them.
