AiA World Art Book Program
The AiA World Art Book Program will present in one book each and every of the 192 UN-listed countries through a single portrait of a resident, a drawing and a poetry done by a local child.
Through our photographs, children's drawings and poetries, we intend to emphasize both similarities and differences of people worldwide. Indeed, in every country on the planet, we can find children drawing, smiling, and playing, each one giving us hope and reliance into the future, using their own universal communication methods.
All the photographs are taken during the course of a school visiting program around the world. Up to now, we have already visited and gathered photographs and/or children's artwork from more than 140 countries over the 6 continents.
The drawings and poetries are composed by children around the world through activities in local schools, or child institutions. The selection of the best artwork from children will be subjected to a committee of poets, authors, and natives of the concerned country. Children will write and draw about their lives and their respective country. We want to keep poetry simple, so that it can attract a public of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
To further promote Artistic Education in schools, the proceeds from the sales of this book will contribute to the implementation of the projects of NGOs focused on education and children through art and to the other programs of AiA.
We are working today already on the 4th edition of the sketches of the book. Fundacion America is financing us the design of the book.
